Committee details
Executive
Purpose of committee
The Executive was previously known as ‘Cabinet’, until 18 January 2023. Agendas and Minutes for Cabinet meetings can be found on the meetings webpage.
The full Council elects a Leader, who then appoints an Executive of between five and ten Councillors (including the Leader). The Executive at West Oxfordshire District Council consists of nine Members.
The work of the Executive falls into three main areas: advising the Council on future policy (in consultation with the Overview and Scrutiny Committees); taking decisions, providing they are in line with existing policy and not covered by the Non-Executive Committees; and appointing representatives on outside bodies and organisations.
