To approve amendments to West Oxfordshire District Council employment policies that may be necessary, in line with legal changes and best practice, ensuring the Councils policies remain compliant.
Decision:
The Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the Council and Director of Governance, Resolved to:
1. Approve amendments to the West Oxfordshire District Council Recruitment Policy and Procedure March 2024.
The updated policy contains additional wording to reflect suggestions made by the Performance and Appointments Committee on 17 April 2024 when the policy was presented to them for adoption.
Members approved the policy with the addition of a definition of ‘Peer Group’, and wording surrounding candidate declarations on their application if they are a friend or relative of a Councillor or by other close association.
